Sandy Kumskov EFT practitioner EFT expert EFT specialist brisbane

Sandy believes that all humans have infinite capacity for happiness, excellent health, abundance and achievement. For many of us, unhappiness, ill health, financial challenges and dissatisfaction are our reality - and of course we're all living somewhere along that continuum. So often the only thing holding us back from living at the most fun end of the continuum is ourselves - we're blocked by our understanding or our response to our life's events.

What can Sandy offer you?

A Holistic Counsellor trained at the Australian College of Natural Medicine and a member of the Australian Counsellors Association, Sandy's focus is mainly on your relationship with yourself and others; this includes self image, body image, weight challenges, success, and abundance. Her main aim is to help you connect to your own creative resourcefulness, of which every human has an abundance, so you can transform your life from painful to peaceful - or even more accurately, from painful to resourceful!

Sandy is a specialist EFT practitioner in Brisbane. EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) helps you to both move very quickly through and clear the negative energy impression of events and beliefs that are blocking you. She also teaches you how to use the tools and techniques so that you can make changes yourself any time life challenges you or when you simply become aware of a block.

During a consultation Sandy may suggest you consider having some body work. Our marvellous bodies are the storehouse of memory. Bodywork can help to move through challenges more quickly, and it just plain feels good to have energetic release through acupuncture, stimulation and nurturing with massage, or general health improvement with naturopathy. In this case she will refer you to other practitioners within the centre, and she has personally had therapy experiences with all of them. Sandy may also suggest some small changes to your lifestyle to support the emotional and energetic work you will do together.

EFT developed from Thought Field Therapy, and was first effective in the area of phobias. Sandy has worked with a range of phobias - yours is not weird, truly! :)

EFT is widely used on 'everything', as Gary Craig, the founder of EFT, encourages. It is the ground floor of a healing highrise and experienced EFT practitioners do try it on everything.

I'm not the problem, it's my spouse/mother/father/daughter/colleague!! Can I send them to you?

Recognising that a relationship isn't working is a powerful awareness and the first step to healing the relationship. The truth about every relationship is that the only person within a relationship we can personally change is the one we see in a mirror - ourself. Sandy can help you to identify patterns in the interaction you have with your other that may help you to change your own responses; or to simply release your own disappointment and frustrations.

Often that's enough to bring you to a place of peace within the relationship. Sometimes the changes you experience in yourself are so evident that your other also opts to spend some time with Sandy to explore their own concerns. When both partners in a relationship opt for counselling together, Sandy suggests as a minimum that each partner have a separate session and then the couple have a session together, to help identify common issues.

I've had illness for years, nothing has helped and nothing will help! Why would EFT be any different?

Firstly as Gary Craig says, try it on everything.

Secondly, we know that the subconscious mind left unexamined is massively powerful. Our earliest experiences are written into our subconscious mind and there they lurk, writing the programs on which we run our lives. Many of the beliefs we have around health and wellbeing, and our body's ability to be whole and to heal itself were programmed before we were even aware of being individual beings.

Our experiences with illness and often with the highly skilled medical experts who treat us, reinforce that our bodies are limited. Sandy, as a holistic counsellor, believes competely that our bodies are the most incredible miraculous self-healing creations ever imagined. The ability to heal is completely controlled by our beliefs and our feelings about the truth and power of those beliefs. Exploring these with EFT can be life affirming and life changing. And incredibly powerful.

What happens during a session?

Most counselling happens one-on-one; sometimes a third person such as a parent, carer or partner, or a student may be present with your consent. Sandy will begin by taking a brief history of your family, health, and major issues in your life. Together you will then identify the issues you consider are most urgent and formulate a progress plan for future sessions. Sandy will then lead you through the tapping points, asking gentle questions and facilitating you finding a deep understanding and release.

Drinking plenty of water is always part of a session, as is extensive breathwork which helps you to release blocked emotions and energy. The time will fly by, and the hour you spend in the space with Sandy is a great gift to yourself.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

This is difficult to answer and is completely individual, depending entirely on what you want to get from EFT therapy, and on your own unique circumstances, history, and experiences. Generally speaking most people reach fairly thorough resolution to their initial issue within two sessions. It is very rare to stick to just that one issue, and often other 'stuff' comes up for you during a session and that of course is also addressed during that session and in later sessions.

For people who have experienced ongoing trauma over many years, more time will be required to explore and discharge the accumulated issues. At every stage you and Sandy will discuss further treatment, the final decision about further work together will always rest with you.

How much does it cost?

Your investment is $120 for a 1.5 hour session. Most clients find that the slightly longer session allows a deeper exploration of the issues, and can shorten the overall number of sessions, creating a great time saving for you.

Remember that EFT usually works very much faster than almost all other forms of traditional talk therapy. All forms of payment are accepted by Sowelu reception.

What if I need to cancel a session?

Sandy sets the time aside for you, and still has costs to meet if you choose to not attend your session. Sandy requests that you give at least 24 hours notice of cancellation so that another client may benefit from the time you're making available. If you cancel more than one appointment on short notice, you will be asked to pay in full for subsequent appointments.

Can I claim on my health fund?

At this time there is only one health fund that recognises counselling, that is Grand United. The Australian Counsellors Association is working with the Federal Government to have counselling recognised under Medicare and we're hopeful this will happen in a reasonable time frame and will then extend to other health funds as well. At this time there is no estimated date as to when this will happen.

I don't live in or near Brisbane, how can I work with Sandy?

EFT works particularly well over distance! Sandy as an experienced EFT Practitioner works with clients in all parts of Australia with great success. To find out more, please visit Sandy's website, or email Sandy any questions you may have or call Sowelu where you may be able to ask her your questions via phone, appointments permitting.

What if I'm not sure if EFT will work me?

EFT works on your body's energy system. It really doesn't matter if you believe that EFT will work or not, it just does. However, if at the end of your session you are not completely happy with the results you've had or not confident that you'll get the results you're looking for, simply open that conversation with Sandy to see what the possibilities could be.
