This is highly recommended before you start an individual session or a group class.  We use the latest science based testing procedures as they prove to be reliable.  It is important to be able to measure your goals with a dependable tool. 

Our testing procedures not only help us to design your program they identify any functional problems that you may have.  We prefer to use tests such as sub-maximal treadmill or bike, 6 minute step, balance, flexibility, strength and body composition.

Testing Procedures

Bio-Impedance testing shows body fat, muscle and water composition in both a percentage and kilogram measure.  This enables us to identify where your weakness are and most importantly have the data to re-test and see the changes in your function fitness after you have been regularly exercising.

 

  • Sub-max Cardiovascular  

This is a modified VO2 maximum test done on a stationary bike or a treadmill.  The purpose of this test is to determine the volume of oxygen the body uses during one minute of aerobic exercise.  This data shows you your current endurance fitness.

 

  • Balance Testing   

It is very important to test your balance as it is a crucial aspect in fall prevention.  Balance deteriorates as we age however it can be improved through regular training.   We do a 4 stage test which is quick and suitable for all ages

 

  • Flexibility Testing

If you do not move your limbs through their full range of motion regularly you will reduce your flexibility.  This test shows your current joint flexibility.
