Having been around for the best part of five thousand years and observing varing disharmonies correct themselves to a state of wellness, many times over, the experience of the ancient practice truly speaks for itself.
What is Acupuncture? The "Meridians" are the main energy system, or circuit, TCM is based on. To give you a comparison, blood runs through your veins, Qi (life force/ energy) runs through your meridians. The pins, disguised as "energy conductors", tap in to the energy system creating balance and harmony. Where there is either an excessive or deficient condition, acupuncture is able to facilitate the healing process. Understandably, placing the words, "relaxing and pins" together in the same sentence just don't seem to gel for a lot of people. Our experience and association to date would naturally tell us that we are in for a similar visit to the doctor for an injection. Rest assured there is NO comparison!!! In today's world the demand on our time and energy is incredibly high, acupuncture is one of the most effective DRUG FREE ways to maintain both mental and physical health. Stress responses are reduced dramatically, giving the body and mind instant permisson to align, inducing emotional release and reducing physical pain. Michelle's sessions are very much about observation of self, identifying the causative factor to the stress response and implementing strategies that support and alleviate the cause. Your visit can also be combined with oriental massage, cupping and/ or herbs that allows the experience to be a further place of nourishment and replenishment. How often should one visit? If you are feeling in the need of a tune-up and de-stress I would encourage at least one session a month as a maintenance strategy. In more chronic conditions I would consider a treatment plan that would be dicussed in your initial consultation. Benefits
