I've been practicing yoga for about 8 years. I attribute the majority of my training to Simon Borg Olivier MSc BAppSc(Physiotherapy) and Bianca Machliss BSc BAppSc(Physiotherapy) at Yoga Synergy in Sydney. Amongst other teachers, I also trained under John Ogilvie at the Byron Yoga Centre.
It's YOUR yoga practice, so it's all YOUR choice. Consider your body and breath as your number 1 teacher. So llisten to your body and breath and tailor your practice to suit how your feeling on that particluar day, and more specifically, at that particular moment. Development of creativity and consciousness will help you tailor each practice to suit you. In the classes I teach, my main focus is that everyone ENJOYS the class. I cant emphasise that enough. On a technical level, I like to incorporate the flow of Vinyasa (constant and conscious movement.. even if it's only the breath) and articulate each posture (and movement between postures) with the details offered by the Iyengar approach. RELAX and ENJOY : ) |
